Russ' turn to write about this day...

I was excited be able to take the family to visit the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. It was a lot of fun to to see the tributes to some of the heroes of my youth and to educate the boys about some of the greatest players in the history of the game. I was especially glad to see the display that they had featuring UCLA and it's legendary coach, John Wooden. This was especially poignant due to Coach Wooden's recent passing. I also enjoyed seeing the tributes to many of my all time favorite NBA players such as: Pete Maravich, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul Jabaar.
Michael Jordan's shoe and signed basketball

The tallest and shortest players. Both of our young boys are not too far off!

John Wooden as a basketball player

John Wooden as a coach. He was the only one to be inducted into the Hall of fame as both a player and a coach

Every Inductee had their picture posted with the lighted background, and some had a short paragraph written about him

It gave us "vertigo" to look up as we walked along this walkway 3 floors up!
The sign above the entrance.

A newly built Basketball Hall of Fame building. It really did honor these athletes.
