pictures of Nebraska- from the train and Chicago

Morning in Nebraska about 6:30 from the train, just outside of Omaha.

More of Nebraska - this is for you, Jacky - more on my facebook page for you.

Iowa farmland. Just before it started raining, taken from the Observation Car. Small wonder that the fields are SO green. Not a common site in California.

Crossing the Missisippi River, on the bridge, in the rain, into ILLINOIS!

First view of Chicago. 2 hours late due to the train hitting a car! Not much to that story. Overheard, and from what the engineer said, an old lady stalled in her car just as she was passing the tracks, but not quite all the way. She got out safely, but the car got smashed. We didn't feel anything ... but the train and those in charge had to stick around for the police report and signing it.
