We spent two more days in Denver, as plans change for our Wyoming visit, and we had extra time here.

On Wednesday, we decided to go to the Museum of Science and Nature and would need to use the bus. So first to the main bus depot to buy the discount ticket book, and then up the Free Mall Shuttle to the place where we catch the bus. This was an amazing museum. However, it had a strong evolution-Darwin emphasis which we skipped over. We believe that God created the universe and we’re not here by accident. But that’s ok, that others believe the other. We know we’re right. We saw real fossils, beautiful gems and minerals, dinosaur bones, and animal dioramas (made us think of the movie "Night at the Museum"- what would happen here if they had the magic tablet?). We will probably be museumed-out by the time our trip is finished, but in the meantime, we’re enjoying it here.

The last day in Denver is actually our leaving day. But since we weren’t leaving until 8:10 in the evening, we wanted to enjoy more of Denver. So after packing, checking out of our room and storing the luggage (first at the front desk, then at Union Train Station) we decided to try to find the restaurant we had heard about: The Buckhorn Exchange. It was the oldest restaurant in Denver spanning 3 centuries. Lunch was less expensive so we opted for that meal there. It took a light rail trip (another form of transportation in Denver) and along the way we saw Coors Field (Home of the Colorado Rockies), and Mile High Stadium (Home of the Denver Broncos!!!!) and the Pepsi Center where the Denver Nuggets play. The restaurant was very old and had animal heads mounted on every wall – well over 200 of them. We opted for an unusual appetizer; alligator tail. The rattle snake was also tempting, but overpriced. When we got back to the train station, we decided to go to the Downtown aquarium. We also decided to walk there, after all, they said it was only about a 15 minute walk. 35 climbing minutes later, we found ourselves finally there. The aquarium was nice, had interesting displays, but it was curious that they also had live tigers, parrots and on display!

So when we returned to the train station by BUS, we thought we wouldn’t get dinner on the train so we went to a Noodle restaurant. We wanted to try the local or the places that we can't get at home we couln’t get back home whenever we could. So this was one of them. It served noodles of all sorts; Pad Thai, to spaghetti, to Mac and cheese, and all tasted really good! Later, we found out when we got on the train that they were indeed serving dinner. We opted for dessert and milk/decaf coffee instead. Our room is actually a roomette and I would call it more a closet with two facing seats that folded into bunk beds. It was small! We were so spoiled on the last leg of the train trip but this still is more comfortable than the seats only in coach, so I shouldn’t complain. I also enjoy the Observation Car with all the windows, the tables and the interesting people you meet.

So now we're in the Windy City; Chicago. We had quite the adventure riding public transportation to the Art Institute (saw and took a picture of the famous "American Gothic" painting by Grant Wood) and headed again by bus and subway to the airport where we caught a shuttle to our hotel.

MOre later .... and pictures too, when time permits
